Room acoustics for iPhone
Eyring plays a test sweep through your own speakers, records it with a calibrated measurement microphone, and recovers how your room really responds. Reverberation time, octave by octave, and a plain account of what the numbers mean.
Coming soon to the App Store. Requires iOS 17 or later. External microphones need an iPhone with a USB-C port.
Export the sweep and play it on whatever drives your speakers. The measurement includes your real amplifier, speakers and room.
Tmid, T20 and T30, broadband and in every octave band from 63 Hz to 8 kHz, following ISO 3382.
The decay is cut where it meets the room's noise floor, and a figure the take cannot support is left out rather than invented.
Load your USB-C measurement microphone's calibration file, and every result says which microphone recorded it.
Curvature, bass ratio, clarity and definition, turned into plain sentences by rules taken from the standards.
Keep the takes worth keeping, named after where the mic stood, and open any of them again later.
Enter the room's size and use, and see how it compares with EBU, ITU and DIN targets, and how much absorption would close the gap.
Eyring is not a certified acoustic measurement system. One measurement is one position in the room. With the built-in microphone, figures are indicative. Do not rely on Eyring where a certified measurement is legally required.
